Terms of Service

Effective 18 September 2026

1. About these terms

These terms govern use of MusterDeck and its public website. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to use MusterDeck only for lawful maritime business purposes and in accordance with your organisation's authority and policies.

2. Operational responsibility

MusterDeck is a software support platform. It does not replace the Master, owner, operator, company Safety Management System, applicable legislation, flag-State requirements, class rules or professional judgement. Users remain responsible for checking records, schedules, drills, reports and decisions against the requirements that apply to their vessel and operation.

3. Accounts and access

You are responsible for keeping account credentials secure and for ensuring each user has an appropriate role. Access must not be shared with unauthorised persons. MusterDeck may suspend access where there is a credible security, misuse or payment concern.

4. Customer data

You retain responsibility for the accuracy and lawful use of information entered into MusterDeck. The service is designed to separate company and vessel records according to authorised access. You must not upload information you are not entitled to process or share.

5. Availability and offline use

Some MusterDeck workflows can operate with intermittent connectivity, while management, reporting, sharing, payment and other functions may require an internet connection. Offline records are subject to synchronisation and permission checks when connectivity returns.

6. Subscriptions and billing

Paid access is provided according to the selected plan, vessel and user allowances, billing period and any agreed add-ons. Subscription details shown at checkout or on an agreed invoice form part of these terms. Cancellation takes effect in accordance with the billing terms shown for the subscription.

7. Acceptable use

You must not attempt to bypass access controls, probe another customer's data, interfere with the service, introduce malicious code, misuse shared links or use MusterDeck to create misleading or fraudulent compliance records.

8. Intellectual property

MusterDeck, its software, branding, templates and platform content remain the property of their respective owners. Customer-created operational records remain customer data, subject to the rights needed for MusterDeck to host, process, secure and deliver the service.

9. Service changes

MusterDeck may improve, replace or retire features as the platform develops. Material changes that significantly affect paid service will be communicated where reasonably practicable.

10. Liability and safety

MusterDeck is not a substitute for statutory compliance checks or safe operational decision-making. Nothing in the platform transfers the legal or operational responsibilities of owners, operators, Masters, officers, crew, designated persons, surveyors or other responsible parties.

11. Privacy

Personal information is handled in accordance with the MusterDeck Privacy Notice. Where your organisation uses MusterDeck to process crew or employee information, your organisation is responsible for having an appropriate lawful basis and providing required notices.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms, subscriptions or use of the service can be submitted through the MusterDeck contact page.
